About us
Scourfield Veterinary Services Ltd was established by Dr Kathryn Scourfield BVSc MRCVS in 2016.
Our fully mobile practice is able to look after the medical needs of your pet, whether for a routine vaccination, or investigation into an illness. We see a wide range of issues and can provide a full range of services at home including blood tests, checking lumps, procedures under sedation, and faecal/urine testing. All of these services are carried out in the pet’s home environment, where they are most relaxed and comfortable.
We are a registered practice with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), and carry a full pharmacy of medication. If your pet requires treatment, it will be left with you at the time of the appointment for added convenience. In the rare event that your pet requires surgery or hospitalisation, we work with practices across London meaning your pet is always in safe hands.
Our head vet, Kathryn, is extremely dedicated and works hard to ensure your pet only receives the highest quality of care. Kathryn has over 9 years of experience, so there’s not a lot she hasn’t seen! Being the owner of a geriatric cat herself, she is only too aware of the challenges a pet owner can face, especially when they become unwell. You may also meet our registered veterinary nurse, Jenni, lending an extra pair of hands when required!
“Having worked in general practice for many years, it soon became apparent there was a proportion of animals who hated coming to the vets! Owner after owner would struggle in with animals that were fearful or stressed; cats having been unknowingly tricked into a travel cage, or dogs that would simply dig in their paws and refuse to walk into the consulting room.
This gave me the idea of starting up a home visit veterinary service, where the vet goes to the pet, rather than the other way around.
Seeing pets at home makes such a difference – they are much more relaxed and it removes the stress element of veterinary care. Seeing a pet in their own environment can really aid with gaining a diagnosis, too. In addition to the benefits for the animal, we hope to make things easier and more convenient for pet owners, too! We aim to provide a flexible service, to try and fit in with busy lifestyles. Simply put, a home visit service eliminates the need to travel with your pet, with no need to worry about waiting times in a busy reception.
I hope it’s a service you and your pet will find useful, and look forward to meeting you soon!”
